Josef Fojt, the author of the film, is one of the first participants in the film workshop that Inventura launched in 2006. He is also a member of the theatre group Inventura, which is currently rehearsing the play Marťani (Martians). He has loved animated films since childhood, and he can name the creative teams of possibly all animated films ever made in Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic from the 1960s until the present. After his film A Story about a Boy, a Girl and her Cat, he created Hubeňourek, a film whose protagonist is a boy who is teased for being different. The film has autobiographical elements. Along with other short animated films made as part of Inventura workshops, Hubeňourek helped kick off Normal Festival 2007.
