What's up in Inventura? It has been nine months since our NGO Inventura was founded. It has successfully gone through the events of the prenatal period and it is now ready for a new life.

What's up in Inventura?

It has been nine months since our NGO Inventura was founded. It has successfully gone through the events of the prenatal period and it is now ready for a new life. As from October Inventura´s extended team is starting a new two-year creative project. In cooperation with other organizations we are going to attempt to introduce a new methodology of developing talents and communication abilities of people for whom it is slightly more difficult to take their bearings in the surrounding world, to communicate and to learn new things. We want to inspire these people to express themselves via making videos, animations and films. To enable this to them we will create an educational course where they will learn how to work with a camera, lights, sound etc. Thus they themselves will have an opportunity to make others modify their ideas of what can people with mental handicap do when they are given the chance. In July we organized first courses of film animation in children´s television Osmička. We are going to continue in this activity as from September. You can have a look at the photos from these courses in the Photos section. Thanks to those of you who attended the benefit concert of Jan Budař and Eliščin Band in April and thanks to the Divoké husy foundation, which doubled the gain, we will soon be able to start working with our own digital camera. Inventura is preparing a film event called Normální festival (Normal Festival). It will take place between November, 21 and 24 in the Prague´s cinema Aero. This festival is devoted to the stories of people who might have some troubles with orientation in everyday life and their grades at school probably weren´t the best. The stories are a little funny and a little touching but mainly they are an inspiration for us. There will be a special guest to our festival – a representative of the U.S. based organization Sprout, which in the long term develops film-making abilities of people with developmental disabilities. The outputs of their activities will be showed as well as the first outputs of Inventura´s film workshop.
