De Witte OlifantDe Witte Olifant

The De Witte Olifant school is situated in Almere, the newest town in the Netherlands and it’s not only the surroundings which are new - its ethos is modern and progressive: education of mentally handicapped people so that they can become independent artists. As in Inventura, this comes from the idea that art can be an ideal means for them to find their place in life. As well as a permanent teaching staff, the school has guest lecturers, one of whom, Helene Kocken, has filmed several portraits of her students which you can find on our website.
