Exciting New Projects
06.04.2010, OskaBright We have had three meetings so far this year, we have mainly been talking about raising money for Oska Bright 2011, Oska Bright On The Road, Oska Bright Film Machine and the new young people's film committee.
Two of these are exciting new projects; the 'film machine' and 'young people's film committee'.
The Film Machine is a film workshop and mobile cinema. We will park up outside schools, colleges and day centres and run training for learning disabled people in film making, we will also show Oska Bright short films made by learning disabled people from our library of films.
The Young People's Film Committee will be a way for us to get young people involved in running a new part of Oska Bright, getting together film screenings that show only films made by learning disabled young people. Matthew Hellett and Sarah Watson from the Oska Bright committee will mentor the new young people to help them to learn the skills they need to work together as a team to put together a film screening. We hope this will be a fresh new creative part of Oska Bright helping us to become even more exciting in the future.
We have been making a cheeky new film to get money for the Film Machine from the BBC TV show Dragon's Den. Meridian TV came in to our meeting to film us making this film, there were cameras everywhere!
We look forward to these exciting new projects happening in the next year or two and to enjoying the rest of the meetings this year, we will tell you about them soon.
