We are just having our Oska Bright meeting for June and there some very exciting things happening. Firstly, we have been talking about our plans for touring Australia next year. We hope that we will be going to South Australia for five weeks and then Sydney for one week. We will be showing some films and running film making workshops there. This will be the furthest that Oska Bright will have travelled - 13,000 miles to support more learning disabled people to make films. This weekend, though, we will be travelling to Cardiff, which isn't quite as far away. Sarah, June and Matthew...
This morning we made four important decisions about the future of Oska Bright; 1. The festival will stay at the Old Market in Brighton for 2011 and will again be held over three days. We will start with a launch just like we did in 2009 as this was really successful. A new young person's committee will be showing two screenings of films made by young people and the current committee will show three new screenings of short films. We hope that our International partners - Picture This Film Festival (Canada), Non-Profit Media (Hungary) and the Normal Festival (Czech Republic)...
It’s been
some time (about 4 years), since I finished my gardener training programme at a
vocational school at the Jedlička Institute and that’s where I fell in love
with ceramics. We had a ceramics course every Monday. After I left the school I
went to study ceramic art.
The vocational school was designed for students with mental and physical
disabilities and everything else was subordinated to this fact. It was fine,
but – and I don’t want to make the teachers there angry – the vocational
programme...
