On 4 February 2010, while shooting a documentary about my life, my film crew and I visited the premises of Jan Švankmajer’s animation studio “Athanor” in Knovíz, where we are making an animated video set to Jan Budař’s song “Vydra”, part of the CD Proměna. The video is being shot using a combination of paper and animation, and, once again, I’m working with Kačka Mikulcová (animator and creative collaborator).

We shot the documentary section here, with me walking around the studio and discovering several props from Švankmajer’s films (for instance, I take the rooster’s head from the film Spiklenci slasti (Conspirators of Pleasure) and put it on my head :-)).

The video clip will be finished soon. All that remains to be done is the cutting, and, if all goes well, we’ll have a premiere soon. Kačka and I are planning to do this at the Světozor cinema, but we’ll see how it all works out. Keep your fingers crossed for us! But it will definitely be part of the documentary I’m working on. If the premiere does happen (and Kačka and I hope it does), you should definitely come! We’d love to see you!
